Albania has declared an emergency situation as a result of coronavirus. The government has therefore taken numerous restrictive measures to stop the spread of the virus. Car and pedestrian circulation is allowed only at scheduled times. So most of the population is isolated at home.
Since the beginning of this situation, “Different Weekend” has been near people in need. Delivering thousands of packages with food and other basic necessities to families living in tents since the earthquake or those in extreme poverty.
The foundation recently went to Bubq area, where it distributed food to more than 235 families.
“Coordinated with the Minister of Defense @oltaxhacka we continue to distribute assistance to reach out to people in need. This is a fight that we will win together,” the foundation’s founder, Arber Hajdari, wrote in a Facebook post.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, “Different Weekend” will make a massive distribution of aid to every area of Albania.
The founder of the foundation, Arbër Hajdari, has previously said that this coordination with the Ministry will take the help where it is needed most.
“We have as a priority the people in need, those who are in tents and elderly people.”
Earlier Hajdari confirmed that the mass distribution of food to over 8,000 isolated families has begun. In addition to the food packages, there are also hygiene products such as soaps, detergents, or disinfectants.
Among other things, the foundation has launched an online campaign, where all Albanians can contribute. Click here to make your contribution.
